ASCII

Amerikanischer Standardcode für den Informationsaustausch

„ASCII“ (Abb. for „American standard code for information interchange“) was originally a 7 bit code where a number is assigned respectively to lower case and upper case letters, numbers and a few special characters which can then be represented by a 7 bit code (0 to 127). The first 32 codes are reserved as control characters for line feed and so on. The ASCII-Code is usual, especially in the area of small computers.
