Enhanced Parallel Port / Extended Capability Port
EPP is the abbreviation for Enhanced Parallel Port, a standard from 1992 from IIntel, Xircom and Zenith which allows transfer rates of 2 MB/s via the LPT port. Up to 64 devices can be connected up to it. ECP is the abbreviation for Extended Capability Port, which was developed by Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard and which also includes a FIFO buffer and a data compression procedure in addition to the (previous) EPP.
