Daisy chain

A Daisy chain is a number of hardware components which are connected in series to each other. Priorities can be specified when the components are wired up so that conflicts and faulty functions can be avoided.

DAS

Direct Attached Storage

The Direct Attached Storage is a storage medium (usually hard disks) which can be connected up directly to the bus of a computer, via ATA, SATA, SCSI or USB, for example. DAS is the opposite of NAS (Network Attached Storage). In NAS the storage medium is connected up via the network.
