DAS

The Direct Attached Storage is a storage medium (usually hard disks) which can be connected up directly to the bus of a computer, via ATA, SATA, SCSI or USB, for example. DAS is the opposite of NAS (Network Attached Storage). In NAS the storage medium is connected up via the network.

The Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) is an industrial standard for distributed applications. It offers a series of services and tools, such as security services or a directory service.

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) uses a corresponding server for the dynamic assignment of an IP address and further configuration parameters to a computer in a network (Internet or LAN, for example).
